How to Write Hypnosis scripts

Hypnotherapy and NLP are therapies that come hand in hand in many ways. One of the main chunks in an NLP training is about language, and this includes the Milton model and the Meta model. The Milton model is used to induct trance experience and the Meta model is used to create the reverse effect, to create greater specificity and an “out of trance” experience. These are both components of a traditional NLP training programme and are also key components in hypnotherapy. In addition, NLP covers many different types of language techniques and patterns which can assist you, when you decide to create a hypnosis script.
There are many different patterns that can be used to create a very good hypnotherapy induction script. Here are some examples of what these are:
Double Binds:
“You will go into a trance now, or in a few moments, Either way you are relaxing.”
This patterns gives the illusion of choice, however which ever choice the client makes, they will still end up going into a hypnotic trance.
Cause and Effect:
“If you listen to my voice, then you will go into a trance, because you are wanting to learn many new things.”
This pattern implies that one thing causes another, even though logically there may be no link between the cause of one thing on another. If the client accepts the plausibility of one thing being linked to another, then they will be.
Intonation Patterns:
“As you begin to relax more, you’ll find that changing is much easier than you had ever imagined.”
This pattern is used to express emphasis on particular words within a sentence to give an embedded command. So in the sentence above, the following words could be accentuated “relax more” “changing is much easier.”
Mind reading:
“You know that I’m wanting you to relax more, and I know that you truly can…”
This pattern is when the therapist claims within the hypnosis script, that they know the thoughts or feelings of the client, without explaining the process by which they came to know.
Not knowing, not doing:
“You don’t have to listen to me, you don’t even have to try to go into a trance, you can just know that everything is happening just as it should be, in exactly the way you want it to.”
This pattern uses negation to direct the client towards whatever it is that you want them to do. This displaces resistance and works very well with embedded commands.
Metaphors:
“You can feel on top of the world…”
Metaphors are symbols to explain in a short and simple way something that has a greater or deeper meaning. The above metaphor is simply a sentence to explain being happy, feeling good and being in control. However a transformational metaphor could be a whole story which is used to symbolize how the client can overcome their problem. Transformational metaphors and nested loops are explained in more detail in “How to create excellent hypnosis scripts” an E-book designed to assist you in writing hypnosis scripts for hypnotherapy purposes.
Sensory Predicates:
“Allow that feeling of relaxation wash over you …as your eyes begin to gently close …so that you see the backs of your dark lids and you listen only to the sound of my voice.”
These are words that relate to the senses that are included in the sentence that you structure in your hypnotic script. During hypnosis the senses are heightened and the use of these words can encourage your client to become more engage in the experience of the trance.

Hypnosis Scripts are Hidden Treasures.

There are many resources available for therapists on the world wide web, and they are of a varying quality. I personally find it more reassuring to receive my resources from credible sources and tend to trust books that can be purchased from the shops rather than documents published on the web (although this doesn’t always denote quality- I’ve read some pretty good articles in my time and read some pretty dodgy books!) I tend to put more faith into those who I know whose work has accredited by some kind of an awarding body, rather than someone who just seems to have an idea of what they are talking about, but their work is perhaps not verified from any other sources. Though often it can seem as if I’m looking at a huge map, trying to decide where I might be able to locate the treasure.
I have often had to use information from the world wide web when I’ve needed to get some instant access to information. For example, a client has called me with a problem and wants to see me – in half an hour, they’re on their way over now, and they have given me a brief outline of their problem and they want to start solving it today. Obviously from my consultation with them I’m, going to get some good ideas about what steps I need to make to start shifting the problem, and it’s also great if I know that there is access to some other guidance that I can either use, or that can inspire me, that is of a high quality, written by someone who knows what they are talking about. In this kind of a situation, I’m not necessarily going to have enough time to go out, research the subject and all of it’s components, buy a book from the local book store (or more long winded still, have to order it and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive.)
So even though I haven’t got the resources I need in my preferred way, I have the resources, I got them quickly and I trust their quality. How beneficial is it going to be for you to do the same?
What I would like to do is to direct you to a website that offers resources to therapists. These resources range from Hypnotherapy scripts that can be instantly downloaded in a PDF format, E-books, which can be instantly downloaded in a PDF format and audios, which can also be instantly downloaded in an MP3 format. You might like to use them as a therapist from a reference or inspirational point of view, or you might just be someone in need of something. Some extra confidence, or weight loss skills. Maybe you want to quit smoking or become more assertive or perhaps you need to heal in some way. You might just be a regular kind of a person who wants to be better than you currently are. Either way, you’ll find this website very useful and amongst the reasonably priced resources, there are even some free ones.
And whilst you are considering what it is that you need, and finding it very easy to find the information and you are very quick to access it, you’ll notice all of the other resources that would be useful for you to have, that you didn’t even realize that you wanted. And you can access those quickly too. Then you’ll be so pleased with everything that you have, you’ll want to share with everyone… to let them know the site where the treasure can be discovered.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is an application of hypnosis for therapeutic benefits. It can be used in areas such as medicine, sport, and for development of a persons well-being. It is no surprise to discover the diversity of problems from which people suffer. Two people with the same problem can easily have different reasons for creating that problem, and different motivations for giving it up. We’ve found that by far the best approach is to treat everyone as individuals.
The reason we say that people ‘create’ their problem is because the only world that really exists, is the one we create within our own minds. However, since we are creatures of habit, and regularly hard wire our nervous system to perform specific acts, emotions and behaviours, it becomes easier to understand how people believe that the problem is not only outside of them, but outside of their control. When Patients come for a hypnotherapy consultation, it is always helpful to explain to them the way in which the brain takes in, filters and represents information to consistently produce specific states. An underpinning knowledge of the NLP communication model is particularly helpful for explaining this process within the mind.
Hypnosis enables your mind to focus concentration, producing a state of deep relaxation. Throughout this process, your mind is more open to suggestion, allowing you to make changes in your perception and behaviour, for the benefit of your health.Using your imagination is a mild form of self- hypnosis. This tells us that trance is a perfectly natural and normal phenomena. During hypnotherapy the trance is aided by your focus on the hypnotherapist’s voice. When you focus in this way you are able to ignore, if you want to, the great deal of other distractions that may be around you.Whilst in hypnosis you are neither fully awake nor fully asleep. However deeply you may go into hypnosis, you will remain in control of the situation and will continue to receive important sensory data.
Hypnotherapy has helped many people to overcome minor and more serious problems. We live stressful and pressured lives, and it’s good to know that there are ways to relieve these problems without pumping our bodies full of drugs. In fact, hypnosis has been accepted as a valid therapeutic technique by the British Medical Association since 1955. Conventional medicine is more aware of the connection between body and mind and to achieve a sense of well-being, harmony must be maintained in both.
The Trance forming Minds course offered by People Building has been assessed and validated at Practitioner Level by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). Graduates from this course are eligible for professional registration with The General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC's Registering Agency) at full Practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industy-based award- The General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP). www.peoplebuilding.co.uk

Applications of NLP

NLP is an understanding of how we code our life experiences and give them meaning. By understanding this, we can use strategies and techniques to create change in our behaviour and results, which help us to maximise our potential. More and more people are realising the value of NLP in enabling them to become more effective in their chosen field. In fact, NLP techniques and models are now being used in a diverse range of areas including education, business and human resources, sport, personal development and health.
Business NLP techniques enhance a variety of business activities. They are often present in courses about selling, presenting and team-building. Other applications include: teaching people to communicate more effectively and persuasively, public speaking and presentations, detecting decision-making strategies in others, enhancing training by belief and value work; all practical tools to achieve peak performance and boost motivation. For business people there are specific tools which enable you to become more effective in your communication and in understanding the individual buying strategies of your customers.
Education NLP provides a model of how we communicate with ourselves and others. NLP can used in teaching to improve the ability to impart information in ways that makes learning easier. For example, identifying natural learning styles, use of presuppositions and language patterns and eliciting states in learners that are congruent with learning.Teachers can learn how to meet the needs of individual learning styles to offer better opportunities to their students.
SportSports men and women can use NLP to access instant motivation and achieve consistent peak performance. NLP is used by sport coaches to aid their clients in reaching and maintaining performance levels. Interventions include modelling and learning successful strategies from leaders in sporting fields, setting performance goals and overcoming plateaus and blocks.
Health and Therapy NLP offers a cognitive model and practical tools that can help you improve the health of yourself and others. It is becoming widely accepted within mainstream healthcare that there is a link between our thoughts, behaviour and health. NLP practitioners who choose to work within therapy can help individuals lead more satisfying lives in a number of ways. This may include, helping individuals to change limiting beliefs, habits and behaviour, facilitating people to manage states and emotions and helping individuals to find meaning in life by setting achievable well-formed goals. For those interested in helping others or themselves to be free of negative emotions from the past, NLP is widely used in therapeutic environments due to the speed of the therapeutic effect. www.peoplebuilding.co.uk
