About Us
D. Hyp, M. NLP
Certified Trainer of NLP
Founder of People Building, Co-founder of NLP4KidsFor me, People Building began as a puzzle. I had just qualified as a trainer of NLP, having previously completed my Practitioner and Master Practitioner training as well as being a qualified Hypnotherapist. I already had a successful Hypnotherapy/NLP practice and was craving more. However, one of the essential elements in starting up my new business was missing from my wealth of resources – money! I desperately needed an extra pair of hands to help me get the business off the ground whilst continuing to run my Hypnotherapy practice, but didn’t have the funds to pay someone. If I got a loan from the bank, I wouldn’t be earning
enough each month to pay it back.
Not one to be put off by something as trivial as lack of funds, I adopted the Law of Requisite Variety (the person with the most flexibility of behaviour has the greatest influence over others). So, I put an advert in the paper, basically saying that I wanted someone to come and work for me-for free. I would give them in exchange the only thing I had to offer – NLP training. Fifteen people applied for the position. I interviewed eleven and took on three.
Together we began to create from scratch the entire company. It took lots of post-it notes, bits of paper, discussion and brain ache. And I’m proud to say that we created what is now, one of the most respected NLP training providers in the community – and I couldn’t have done it without them.
Be you…only better!

M. NLP C. Ht
Certified Trainer of NLP
Founder of Inner Free, Co-founder of NLP4Kids
I was first introduced to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 2002 which was beginning of a journey that was about to change the course of my life both personally and professionally. I had a career in the banking industry for 18years, working with a major High Street Bank with varying roles ranging from Personal Banking, Management and Sales Coaching. I often used this opportunity to escape issues in the domestic world although the job was very monotonous.
It was thanks to an amazing individual Anthony Robbins that helped me to find the inner strength to take the steps to free myself and my children to a more positive place in life, where I was in control of my destiny. To live my dreams. This was the beginning of a curiosity for me to find out more about NLP as I wanted to help others who are facing challenges in their lives.
Having found this new “Inner” willpower to “Free” myself from the shackles of a normal mundane lifestyle, I have now discovered love for the first time and my children are thriving in such a positive fashion which could have never been imagined before.
My life is true testimony to prove that the challenges that life offers can be overcome to lead a much more prosperous and positive lifestyle.

Occupational Therapist
M. NLP D.Hyp
I came across NLP in 2006 after deciding I was fed up with my career as a mental-health occupational therapist. After seeing an advert offering the opportunity to become involved in NLP training, my interest was sparked. I began to read up about NLP and initially was skeptical as to whether the techniques were as effective and as quick as they claimed to be. Having studied psychology at university and also having worked in the psychiatric services, I was aware of what other therapies were around and also their limitations. In fact it was the limitations of the therapies used in mainstream healthcare that was related to my lack of job satisfaction. However, after some fairly initial research I realised NLP to be a powerful tool for change. Not only that, but it truly is an attitude that has immediate effects on your own life and well-being.
I began to see that NLP could enable me to feel more confident and be in charge of how I feel. I am now having a great time coaching for People Building, my job is satisfying because I am empowering others by sharing the wonderful techniques that are NLP.

and non- evasive laser surgeon of the brain!
I have always been fascinated by how the mind works. I needed to figure out what would stimulate my appetite to learn more about it, which lead me to take up a course in hypnosis, with it I discovered the world of NLP. As a master practitioner, I am now working as a coach for People Building to increase my skills in a practical way. I now have a successful career which has transformed my life completely, allowing me to fulfil my goals, and giving me the confidence that one day I will be able to open my own practice.
I enjoy the satisfaction in helping people to reach their full potential and can now communicate more effectively with anyone I meet and even myself. By accessing powerful internal resources I can now lead the life I want.

What is NLP
NLP was developed in the early 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder who studied excellence within the field of therapy. Their main studies were of Milton Erickson (responsible for bringing hypnosis to the clinical world) Virginia Satir (a family therapist) and Fritz Pearls (founder of Gestalt therapy). Bandler and Grinder also drew upon the work of linguistics, anthropologists and psychoanalysts. NLP is an art and a science. It is largely based on the idea that the sensory information around us is translated into thoughts and ideas which affect our state, physiology and behaviour and therefore our results. Our words also affect our experience and the experience of others. NLP teaches us how to use communication more effectively. NLP also tells us that we code or represent information to ourselves in certain ways, using specific strategies and techniques we can represent this information differently to produce better results. The presuppositions are a list of convenient beliefs. They give empowerment and help us to understand how others might be experiencing the world. In short, NLP is an attitude of wanton curiosity, that uses strategies and techniques to consistently produce a specific and desired outcome.
As a company, we endeavor to be clean and concise about what constitutes as NLP. We are aware that there are many NLP training institutes that have their own slant on NLP strategies and techniques. We will only teach true, credible NLP that actually works.
10 steps to understanding yourself1. Every second your nervous system receives 2 million bits of important sensory data about the events that are happening around you. You interpret this information via your 5 senses, Visually (sight), Auditory (hearing), Kinaesthetic (feeling & touch), Olfactory (smelling) and Gustatory (tasting).
2. Of course, we are not aware of 2 million things happening every second (because we’d go crazy!) so our mind filters the information into about 7 bits. In order to filter 2 million bits into 7 bits it deletes some things, distorts and generalises.
3. Deletions are important because they stop us from being bombarded by information that isn’t relevant in the moment. For example as you read this, you were probably not aware of your breathing until it was brought into your awareness. If a person is depressed, they may be deleting happiness from their awareness, NLP uses a linguistic tool called the meta model which can highlight the deletions a person is making.4. Distortions, this is when we make things better or worse than they really are. This is the filter that a fisherman uses when he claims that the 2½ ft fish he caught was about 4 ft long. When a person has a phobia they distort the pictures they make in their mind, so that a spider becomes a man eating spider sitting on you face. The NLP Fast Phobia cure can rapidly remove lifetime phobias.5. Generalisations help us to relate things we are learning to what we already know. It also prevents us from having to relearn something every time we do it, such as riding a bike. Generalisations can be limiting. If a bad experience leaves us with negative beliefs, it limits our world. For example, if someone had a bad experience at the dentist, they may have the belief that all dentists are terrifying. The NLP belief change intervention will replace the disempowering belief with a more positive one.6. Using the 7 bits of information that have filtered we recreate the outside event inside our mind. This is called an internal representation. This mean that what we represent to ourselves inside our minds is never true to what is actually happening in the event (because we have deleted bits, distorted bits and generalised bits). We all Delete, Distort and Generalise differently, so we all have different experiences of life.7. The things we create in our Internal Representation affect the way we feel. In NLP, we call this State.8. Our State affects our Physiology (what we do with our bodies), this is why happy people have a much more upright posture, and depressed people slouch downwards.9. State, Physiology and Internal Representations are interlinked and affect each other. This is why lucky people seem to attract more luck and unhappy people seem to attract more problems. We are designed to attract more of what we focus on.
10. Our State, Physiology and Internal Representations account for the behaviour we then exhibit which affects the results we get. Good results or bad results, either way we get results, NLP just ensures you are getting excellent ones!

FREE NLP and Hypnotherapy events
People Building, a training and self development company are offering a unique opportunity to experience a free introduction to NLP and Hypnotherapy.
NLP is an understanding of how we code our life experiences and give them meaning. By understanding this, we can use strategies and techniques to create change in our behaviour and results, which help us to maximise our potential. NLP is widely applicable, for example:
Sports men and women can use NLP to access instant motivation and achieve consistent peak performance
For business people there are specific tools which enable you to become more effective in your communication and in understanding the individual motivational strategies of your colleagues.
Teachers can learn how to meet the needs of individual learning styles to offer better opportunities to their students.
Sales and marketing people can learn how to gain instant rapport, understand how customers use buying strategies and customise their language to have greater influence.
For those interested in helping others or themselves to be free of negative emotions from the past, NLP is widely used in therapeutic environments due to the speed of the therapeutic effect.
